LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., March 30, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — KIDA customer Kaydad Maseeh, 19, was one of 118 artists featured in the 40and Annual California Cool Auction. Kaydad is an up-and-coming artist from Newport Beach who has channeled his energy into the arts. His special needs have not hindered his creativity and personal expression and his works reflect this. Her unique work, titled “Vortex”, was selected by Laguna Art Museum Executive Director Julie Perlin Lee. It was a proud moment for Maseeh to learn that his art made a significant contribution to the museum and was one of the most expensive transactions in the silent auction.

“Laguna Art Museum celebrated its 40and Art auction on March 5and. As the first art auction as Executive Director, there were many exciting takeaways, but by far the most rewarding was meeting the many Southern California artists who make it the place dynamic and creative that he is. One of these artists is Kaydad Maseeh. I had the honor of personally selecting a work from the prolific work of the artist to be represented in the museum. The selection was not easy, but in the end, a work that possesses the delicate balance of energy and serenity was exhibited and sold with funds benefiting the museum’s future education programs. We hope this is just the beginning of our relationship with Maseeh, a clearly dedicated and emerging artist from Southern California.” said Julie Perlin Lee.

The Laguna Art Museum’s 40th Annual California Cool Art Auction raised a total of $401,000 to support future California-focused exhibitions and arts education programs for young people. It was an evening filled with celebrations between artists, collectors and the community. In addition to local bidders, bidders from across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom participated virtually in the search for works by top Californian artists.

That his works are so sought after was an absolute honor for Maseeh, and he looks forward to future collaborations with the Laguna Art Museum.

About Kaydad Maseeh
Kaydad is originally from Laguna Beach and has always lived in Southern California. Kaydad embarked on an artistic career to find ways to communicate his artistic vision to the world. He finds that art provides a freedom of expression, to mix custom colors and to create and capture a one-of-a-kind moment through abstract imagery. The images capture his emotional journey, which is unique and evocative. He became interested in technology-assisted art, where one can use unique techniques and processes to create paintings that can no longer be duplicated.
