Rowan’s Waterscape Art Exhibition at the Rail Walk Gallery – Salisbury Post
Rail Walk Studios & Gallery is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Plein Air Carolina artists in support of the Rowan County Creek Week event. The exhibition opens July 22 at the Rail Walk Gallery, 409 N. Lee St. in Salisbury. It closes on August 28. It is free and open to the public during Rail Walk hours, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to an artists reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday July 23.
The local group Plein Air Carolina paints on site once a week. Artists often settled and painted on the lakes and waterways of Rowan County. They are supported by the Waterworks Visual Arts Center in Salisbury. The participating artists of Plein Air Carolina are Carolyn Blackman, Barbara Duffy, Joyce Cavanagh-Wood, Phyllis Steimel, Ray Richardson, Sarah White-Harvey, Rebecca Little, Beth Taft, Diane Overcash, Karen Koritko, Celia Jarrett, Sherry Mason and Sharon Forthofer .
Rail Walk Studios & Gallery and Plein Air Carolina wish to support Rowan County Creek Week and their conservation efforts. The paintings will be put on sale by the artists. They plan to donate to Rowan County Creek Week event based on sales.
