Artist LN Tallur will interact with art lovers at the festival site on Sunday

ParamPrateeka, a unique art festival to commemorate the completion of 27 years of Prasad Art Gallery, was inaugurated on Friday at the residence of gallery founder Koti Prasad Alva in the city.

Chairman of Alva Education Foundation, Mr. Mohan Alva inaugurated the festival, which will run until February 28 between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., at “Ram Prasad”, Kodialguthu East, amidst lush greenery natural.

Shivananda Basavanthappa, principal of Bodhi College of Visual Art, Bengaluru, former MLC captain Ganesh Karnik and others were present on the occasion.

Prasad Art Gallery was founded by Mr. Koti Prasad Alva in 1994 to meet the need for a gallery in Mangaluru, a statement said.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr Mohan Alva said: “Beauty is essential to society. Anyone with this awareness understands that they love the country, the environment and society.

Mr. Basavanthappa highlighted the importance of antique art collections and spoke about the social and cultural value of antiquities.

The event venue had a festive look with beautiful artwork adorning almost every inch of the available space. The place was buzzing with enthusiastic artists and art lovers swarming everywhere.

The festival presents art in three categories: exhibition of artifacts and antiquities, installation art competition titled “Paramprateeka” and exhibition of works by 27 renowned senior artists.

A special interactive session was held with visual artist LN Tallur on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
