Mystery art exhibition kicks off a month of events

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) – The WF Arts Council has announced the opening of the Mystery Art Fest exhibition and online action!

The 250 original works of art in the exhibition can be viewed in person at the Kemp Center for the Arts or in line until October. The real mystery lies in the identity of the 177 local, regional and national artists: all the names of the creators are hidden and will remain secret until October 22, when the pieces will be auctioned on the last evening of the exposure.

The Arts Council has planned a month of activities leading up to this final auction, which can be viewed in the calendar below. All events are free and open to the public.


Thursday October 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Artist reception to celebrate participating artists and their works, with an open-air festival on the theme of food, drink and art.

Thursday October 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Open Late with the Wichita Falls Poetry Society: The Poetry Society will launch its special anniversary book, “A Celebration of Poetry: 90 Poems for 90 Years” and feature poetry readings from the book!

Thursday October 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The gallery is open late until 8pm for a last chance after hours to view art and place offers.

Friday October 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The final evening of the exhibition is an evening of art stations with music, poetry, visual arts, light snacks, drinks and much more! People are welcome to come and go all night. There is no live auction; The online auction for the silent auction will close at 8 p.m. The works can then be picked up after 8 p.m. or the next day.
