First Annual Penn Valley Art Festival

The Western Gateway Park Foundation and IWS Art by Destiny are honored to be able to organize and present the first annual Penn Valley Art Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 25, 2022 at Western Gateway Park. The event will feature live music, wonderful food options, beer and wine, and over 50 art vendors. The scope of art included in the festival is very wide, ranging from crafts and candles to fine art including watercolors, oils and acrylics. There will also be carpenters, various textiles and ceramic artists.

“There has been tremendous interest from our local art community, and it has been a great privilege to be able to organize a place where they can share their works,” says Destiny Bradt, owner of Art by Destiny. “We hope this event will be a great success and that we can continue to run it for years to come, growing and improving as we gain more experience.”

In addition to the art vendors, there will also be a kids’ area which includes art activity, face painting and rocket launching. The entire event, except for the food and drink vendors, is free to the public.

“We want this to be an event for the whole family,” Bradt continues, “Something for everyone.”

IWS Art by Destiny is an institution of the IWS Globe Art Network, the largest art network in the world. IWS’ mission is to spread peace and harmony worldwide through art. Part of that is creating events, such as exhibitions and festivals where artists and art lovers can connect and develop lasting friendships. Although IWS is active in over 110 different countries, each branch and institution strives to advance the art in its own community. As part of an international network, it also allows branches and institutions to work together to create international events that can include master artists from around the world.

“Ultimately, I’d like to see this event include demonstrations and workshops from some of the best watercolorists in the world,” Bradt said. “Working with Western Gateway Park has been a tremendous joy as the park and the Western Gateway Park Foundation have worked hard to imagine and create more community events.”

The art festival is just one of many efforts the park and foundation plan to provide to Penn Valley. With over 88 acres and a beautiful clubhouse, it’s an ideal location for a variety of public events. In addition to the art festival, a patriotic celebration is planned from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. the weekend following July 2. This fantastic event will feature five live bands and two DJs. Food will be available for purchase. Come and bring the family and begin to experience the rich culture of our beautiful community.
