Dozens of participating local artists will take to the streets from 9 a.m. to paint the city
The Camas Gallery will host its annual Downtown Camas Plein Air Art Festival for the fourth consecutive year on Friday, September 4. Dozens of participating local artists will take to the streets from 9 a.m. to paint the city.
Throughout the day, the artists will work on their respective works in the open air. At 4 p.m., artists will move their easels and finished artwork to the sidewalk in front of the Camas Gallery, located at 408 NE Fourth Avenue, where the public can view all of the finished artwork in one location.
The community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite outdoor artwork and purchase one of the pieces for a lump sum of $ 200 each from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The proceeds from the sale of all outdoor pieces will be shared between the selling artist and the Camas gallery.
“This event really connects our community to local art,” said Marquita Call, owner of the Camas gallery and organizer of the annual art event. “Each year, we welcome more and more artists for this exciting event that helps attract people to downtown Camas. In these tough economic times, I encourage our neighbors to visit Camas on September 4th to support local artists and our downtown merchants.
