An ‘eclectic’ pop-up art exhibit is coming to the West Orange Arts Center

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The West Orange Arts Council (WOAC) will present an “eclectic art viewing experience” with a pop-up gallery exhibit at the West Orange Arts Center at 551 Valley Road.

The exhibition will feature the work of four local artists and WOAC members. It will run from May 7 to May 21.

A “Meet the Artist” reception will be held on Saturday, May 7 from 1 to 4 p.m., featuring an afternoon of “Music for Mom” featuring jazz and classical flute and keyboard music by Liana and Main

According to a press release from the band, the artists include:

  • Local ceramist and mascarist Leslie Schnell Jacobsen adorns her brightly colored masks with ribbons, beads, feathers, leather, fabric, glass and metal.
  • Carol T. Jenkins, owner of Jenkins Graphics and multi-year winner of the Essex County Senior Artists Exhibition, will exhibit collages and mixed media assemblages.
  • Monica Sztybel’s stitched images of celebrities sparked the creation of Blister’s Needlepoint, creating one-of-a-kind pieces for people around the world.
  • Rachel Pruzan paints abstract works and dreamy landscapes with alcohol ink and oil paint. This summer, she will exhibit work at Harvard Business Publishing in Massachusetts.
